Kyoto Motorsport is a professional sim racing and drifting team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of virtual motorsports while bridging the gap between sim racing and real-world competition. What started in 2014 as a drift-focused Gran Turismo team has evolved into a multi-discipline powerhouse with drivers competing in Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Gran Turismo, and more.
Our mission? To develop top-tier sim racers, create a thriving motorsports community, and open doors to real-world racing opportunities.

The Evolution: A New Identity
In August 2023, Kyoto Motorsport underwent a major transformation, rebranding under a new vision inspired by Sakamoto Ryōma—a historical Japanese figure known for innovation, adaptability, and breaking barriers. His pioneering spirit aligns with our mission to push the limits of motorsports, embrace progress, and elevate sim racing to new heights.
Under this new banner, Kyoto Motorsport thrives as a multi-discipline, multi-platform racing community, committed to training drivers, fostering competition, and opening pathways to real-world motorsports.
What We Believe
Kyoto Motorsport was built on one simple idea!
Real driver development should not be locked behind some ego, gatekeeping, or even fake exclusivity. This team is here for people who want to learn, improve, and be part of something serious without getting judged for where they started.
At Kyoto we treat sim racing and sim drifting as real training tools. What we teach in the simulator across the world right from the comfort of your own home absolutely translates to real life because the core fundamentals stay the same: vision, throttle control, steering timing, weight transfer, line choice, and car control. Racing and Drifting instruction often centers on those same fundamentals, and motorsport training sources describe drifting as controlled oversteer built on timing, control, and technique rather than random style.
That means it does not matter whether you are on a wheel, on a controller, or working toward your first real drift event. If you are willing to listen, apply feedback, and put in the work, your training has value and your progress matters here.
Kyoto Motorsport is a judgment-free team. We do not clown beginners for asking questions, and we do not look down on people because of their hardware, their budget, or their experience level. We care about attitude, consistency, respect, and growth.
This is not a team built around ego. It is built around learning, discipline, and helping drivers become more capable in sim and beyond.

Founder & Team Owner, Kyoto Motorsport
Motorsport has been part of my life since I started racing at eight years old. My journey has taken me from karting and stock cars to drifting, Lamborghini race cars, and professional performance-driving instruction. Today, I bring that experience to Kyoto Motorsport—a team and community built around competition, driver development, and a shared passion for racing.
Where It Started
From ages eight to fifteen, I raced 50cc, 125cc, and 175cc shifter karts, building the foundation for my understanding of racecraft, car control, and competitive driving. At fourteen and fifteen, I also competed in Super Late Model stock cars and ARCA West, gaining experience in a different discipline of motorsport.
I started drifting at fifteen in a friend’s 1986 Toyota Corolla coupe powered by an SR20DET. That car introduced me to a different side of driving—one that demanded commitment, adaptability, and precise control. At nineteen, I purchased my first dedicated drift car: a 1991 Nissan 180SX Type X hatchback.
Racing and a Change of Direction
In 2018, I completed and passed the testing required for my FIA racing license. During the 2019 and 2020 seasons, I raced with Dream Racing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series, taking my experience into one-make sports-car competition.
At the end of 2020, I chose a different path and became a police officer in Las Vegas. I left the department in 2022, and in 2023, I returned to motorsport professionally as a driving coach at SPEEDVEGAS.
From Racing to Coaching
I coached at SPEEDVEGAS until 2025. After my father passed away, I moved to Texas and continued my coaching career with Longhorn Racing Academy, Skip Barber, and the BMW racing school at Circuit of the Americas.
Since April 2026, I have been coaching with Porsche in Atlanta, helping drivers build confidence, understand vehicle dynamics, and refine their technique behind the wheel.
My approach to coaching comes from experience across multiple disciplines. Whether I’m working with someone in a real car or a simulator, the focus is the same: understand what the car is doing, make deliberate inputs, and build speed through consistency rather than guesswork.
Bringing That Experience to Kyoto Motorsport
Alongside my real-world career, I have spent more than a decade drifting and competing in sim racing across multiple platforms. The simulator gives me another place to study driving technique, explore vehicle setup, and keep challenging myself.
My reported Nürburgring record tally spans 22 different cars, including the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo. For me, the value goes beyond the lap time—it is in learning each car, understanding its limits, and finding ways to improve.
I founded Kyoto Motorsport to bring that mindset to a wider community. Through driver coaching, team leadership, marketing, and content creation, I’m building a place where ambitious racers can share knowledge, develop their racecraft, and compete with purpose.
